Dr. Evans (Registered Osteopath)

I trained at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in London, UK graduating in 2004 with 1st Class Honours.

It was a great training but I also needed the experience and mentorship to build on it and that when I started my search for the best osteopaths and the best teachers of osetopathy. In the end that search meant I would travel all the way to New Zealand, but if you want the best then you have to prepared to make the sacrifices.

At the time leaving family and friend and the familiarity of the UK for NZ where I knew nobody at all was completing daunting. But ...

... it was a great decison 'cos not only was the mentorship I received working with Ben Evans worldclass, but I also met my wife Charlotte and soon we had two boys, Makani and Tiake. (As you can see now not so young).

So with my new kiwi family we then decided to follow the well worn path of many a New Zealander and move to Australia.

We started off in Canberra but the weather was too much so we moved and opened our 1st Australian clinic in Tweed Heads and then in 2014 we opened our 2nd clinic here in the Gold Coast.

Australia has been awesome to us and now in 2018 as a family we're living in the Sunshine Coast. We do of course still have the clinic here in the Gold Coast and I travel down once a week to see patients.

Until recently I only saw babies and children, but I do like variety in life so I have recently started seeing adult patients as well. And to answer a common question yes I do take on new patients, although there is a waiting list, so if it's urgent I would recommend you first see one of the other osteopaths here at the clinic as we will be able to get you in faster. I have personally been involved in training them all so you are in very good hands with all of them.

With regard to my style of treatment, it's gentle but you'll definitely feel its effects by the end of treatment and of course afterwards. Whilst i'm treating patients often ask me if i'm doing Reiki, not intentionally! As I've never had Reiki treatment and I'm not trained in it, but I mention it to give you a feel for what patients say as that may clue you better to my style!

Some may describe my style as 'cranial' but I definitely won't spend the whole time holding your head so that's maybe misleading!

I do have a lot of cranial experience, and of course this works very well for children, but gentle treatment doesn't have to be just cranial and certainly we shouldn't just treat the head.

To be honest this whole last section is possibly not that helpful as you're probably reading this because of word of mouth referal anyway and a description can only ever give you a flavour of what it is like to have treatment.

But hopefully it was of help, and if you'd like more information do just give the clinic a ring. Especially if you are thinking of bringing your baby in, as if you've not experienced gentle treatment before then it may be difficult for you to visualise how we can be very gentle with your baby and yet at the same time be effective in helping them.
