When it comes to back pain we have probably treated something similar to what you have - here's a list - of course you may not have a label for your problem - that's fine the labels are just ways of talking about it and often you may have a mix of these or something that is you can't put a label on - that's fine we've treated those as well! here' the list anyway - acute pain, chronic pain, sciatica, ligament strains, muscle spasms, thoracic pain, lumbar pain, scoliosis, disc problems including prolapses, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, spondylois, spondolythesis, spinal stenosis, nerve impingement, pelvic imbalance, sacrum & coccyx pain & displacement, fractures, and more. We've also had a lot of success treating back pained caused by menstrual issues, pelvic floor imbalances and post birth & pregnancy issues.
Well as an osteopath you may think I would say if you are in pain come & see me, but in quite a few cases you may not have to. If your pain levels aren't too high my advice is simply leave if for a day or so & see if it goes away - often if its a simple tweak to a muscle or a ligament it will get better on its own especially if you can take it easy & give the body a chance to recover. Ice locally applied or heat globally via a hot bath can both help. If your pain levels are high or your mobility is restricted or you just know your body and can tell it needs treatment, then definitely get some treatment early before the problem beds in. If you really aren't sure what is going on with your pain or injury then please feel free to give the clinic a ring and discuss your problem in more detail with one of our registered osteopaths.
