Treatment For Hip Pain

Successful treatment of the hip requires a thorough examination of hip, knee, pelvis & spine mechanics.

Hip pain and problems come in lots of different ways and sometimes your hip pain isn't really hip pain its sacro-illiac pain, see the picture on the left. Either way to get good results it is important for your therapist to examine the complicated mechanics of this area. The hip and knee will be feeding tensions back and forth and the position of the hip within the socket will be dependent on all its big muscles, such as the gluteals (bum muscles) snd the deep muscles in your back and groin. If your pelvis is twisted or the back has issues then this will be causing strain into the hip.

Muscles strains (gluteals, piriformis, adductors, TFL), bursistis osteoarthritis, post hip operation rehab and a variety of sports issues. This and just pain in the hip that came on without any reason is what we treat most often for this area. We also have treated some lesser known problems, such as 'snapping hip', capsular pain and of course lots of hip pain in kids and teens due to a variety of causes.
