She is trained in Shonishin, a Japanese acupuncture technique designed for children, in which the acupuncture points are used but no needles pierce the skin. Instead a variety of specialised tools are used and the points are rubbed, tapped or very gently heated. Children respond very quickly to treatment often with great success.

Rachel spent six years working at Fertile Ground Health Group in Melbourne – an inter- disciplinary natural medicine clinic focusing solely on fertility and pregnancy. She is very experienced in supporting both women and men while they are trying to conceive and in caring for women, both while they are pregnant, and post-birth.
Â
Rachel has recently moved to the Gold Coast from Mount Nebo near Brisbane. When she is not in clinic she enjoys going to the beach, yoga, gardening, cooking and her beloved tabby cat Monty.
Â
Rachel’s Treatment Style:
Â
As part of an initial consultation Rachel will take a full case history and then use gentle touch to create a map of the body’s imbalances by palpating the neck, abdomen, wrist pulses and points on the feet.
Â
From here she will identify and explain the “positive reflexes” that she has found that are acting as roadblocks to healing.
Â
Points are used to clear the reflexes as much as possible - this is a transparent treatment style in which the patient can directly experience acupuncture working - and is based on the teachings of Japanese Master Acupuncturist Kiiko Matsumoto.
Rachel will draw from a wide treatment repertoire to develop a treatment plan which, in addition to acupuncture, may include moxibustion, herbal medicine, flower essences, massage and cupping.
